Initiated during the summer of 2015, the Food, Farms, and Fisheries Assessment (FFFA) creates an inventory and map of the current state of local foods in the communities surrounding Merrymeeting Bay. This assessment identifies all aspects of the local food system, including:

  • Food producers
  • Farmer/fishermen-to-consumer sale locations (farmers' markets, CSAs, etc.)
  • Processing and distribution resources
  • Restaurants
  • Food banks and/or pantries
  • Food retailers
  • Waste management resources

The FFFA will be continually updated and will be used by the Merrymeeting Food Council to support the Council's mission of developing a community that supports local production and provides healthy, nutritious food to all.
