2 positions: Farm Operations Manager & Youth Program Coordinator

Somali Bantu Community Association - Full Time - $18-$20/hour - Lewiston

The Farm Operations Manager is responsible for overall farm management and stewardship of SBCA’s Liberation Farms, as well as training and collaborating with staff to ensure successful implementation of the farming program. During the growing season, the position will be based at our farm property in Wales, ME. In the off-season, the Farm Operations Manager & Educator may work remotely or from the SBCA office in Lewiston when appropriate. To learn more or to apply, click here.

The Youth Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning and executing programs for Somali Bantu youth. During the growing season, SBCA has opportunities to host programs at our working farm in Wales, Maine. 3 positions: Farm Crew, Wash Station Assistant Manager & Farmers’ Market Staff

Six River Farm - Full Time - $15-20/hr - Bowdoinham

Our farm crew position is the core of our farm: it's a basic, do-everything farm position. Employees participate in all aspects of work on the farm, from planting to weeding to harvesting. We offer an opportunity to work outside and learn many aspects of organic vegetable production. We think farm work is very rewarding, but it can also be very tiring and challenging. We work in all weather conditions throughout a long growing season. Therefore we look to hire individuals who are self-motivated, appreciate hard work, and have a sense of humor. This position begins on April 4th and ends on November 23rd. Additional winter work may be available to employees interested in working a second season. Field Worker - Full Time. We are looking for a field worker with experience operating tractors (or other equipment), and with some mechanical ability. This position will include all aspects of our farm work…including handwork, such as planting, harvesting, crop care…as well as operating tractors to assist with field prep, cultivation, etc. Must be reliable, a team player, as well as able to work with limited supervision.
